One thing I’ve noticed about most auto enthusiasts and some non-enthusiasts as well, is that often we like to upgrade our cars to fix little practical things that can be annoying or maybe just sub-par. Things that, while they don’t add any actual performance improvements, they do make the time spent in our cars more pleasant – they’re a quality of life mod, so to speak. It doesn’t hurt that they’re usually cheap as well. Towards that end, I thought I’d post a quick review of one such item – Noble Performance’s T15 LED bulb kit.
I first heard about these bulbs on one of the BRZ/86 forums, where the general consensus was that they were a good product and worked well. Since at the time I was still waiting for delivery of my BRZ, I thought I’d grab a set to have ready for when it arrives, since most people were saying that the back-up lights on the car were rather dim and not LED like the rest of the car. Ordering was simple and quick, and they were purchased from Import Image Racing since they were the ones who carried the bulbs. The bulbs arrived in a few days and were ready to go for when my car arrived. The price was also extremely reasonable at $7.96 for the pair, and was notably cheaper than similar bulbs I found on Amazon and other sites. As for the bulbs themselves, they seemed well-made and showed no issues that I could see.
Eventually, my car did arrive and pretty much as soon as I got it home I swapped out the bulbs. It’s really simple to do and took about 5-10 mins total. Noble has a video on it which I’ll share below. The results were excellent and the bulbs are easily twice as bright as the OEM bulbs, maybe a little more even. They also color match the light from the rest of the car’s bulbs, which looks great. How long they last only time will tell, but considering how cheap they were and how effective they work, I give them a thumbs up and my recommendation.
