Cheap, Cheap! . . . . Fun, Fun!

Today I have something cheap, simple, and quick for you – the best of all worlds in one. It’s also very JDM. Well, not really, but kinda, maybe? The backstory – a short while back I was browsing through Japanese owners’ pages like I often do and noticed that quite a few of them were doing the mod I’m about to share with you. To be honest, it’s not something I had noticed or ever considered until I read their pages, and then once I had read them it occurred to me that this was something that both of my WRXs had, but for some reason the BRZ was missing. And what was it, this cheap wonder mod? Bolt caps. Both of my WRXs came with bolt caps on the dash bolts in the driver’s and passenger’s side front doorjambs, and for some reason the BRZ didn’t have them. This isn’t a USDM/North American thing either, apparently JDM BRZs are missing them as well and Japanese owners are installing them on their own. Why? Probably because it gives a somewhat more finished and clean look to the doorjambs.

It’s also a blindingly simple and cheap mod to install, and literally takes seconds to do as all you have to do is snap the caps on the bolts. I paid a $1.65 USD for each cap and you can get them at any Subaru parts counter. You need four of them, so you’re looking at $6.60 USD to mod your own BRZ. This has to be the cheapest mod there is, hands down. The part number is on the label in the above photo, so just show the parts person the pic and they can find the caps for you.

That’s it. Cheap, simple, and quick, just like I said, so have at it.
